son, Benjamin, was born, and Rachel his wife died. Jacob mourned for her deeply and built a monument over her grave.
From Bethlehem Jacob returned to his father, who I 's lived near Hebron, and remained with him until Isaac death died. Esau and Jacob buried their father in the cave
at Mambre, in which Sara, Abraham, and Rebecca were buried.
At the death of Isaac, Jacob inherited the share of the  rst-born son and became the patriarch, or father, of a great nation.
