mg of great granaries, 1n wh1ch he stored up one- fth of all the grain that was produced. Then began the seven years of famine. Nothing grew throughout the land. Soon the people began to ask Pharao for food. But he said to them, ''Go to Joseph, and do all that he shall say to you.''
The famine increased daily and spread throughout the world. Joseph opened up the granaries and began to sell grain to the Egyptians. They had no money. They gave their land, and in this way Pharao became the owner of almost all the land in Egypt during the years of famine.
