Reasons for this activity:

          1.  The implementation of diagnostic assessment early in this unit is not only to provide feedback about what students know and do not know, but how to adapt or
              improve teaching practices.
          2.  It set the tone for instructional design using Gagne’s 9 events of instructional design
          3.  This diagnostic assessment will also inform the learner of the objective the unit (Gökdemir et al., 2013).
          4.  This activity is also for knowledge recall, making student attentive of what they do know and not know and to revisit previous course content (Gökdemir et al.,
              2013).
          5.  A Forum discussion can be created using a Learning Management System (LMS) or using an educational tool.
          6.  Forum discussions promotes collaborative learning and provide opportunities for learner to seek, find and share information (Nor et al., 2010).

       Students should understand the following before commencing with this course:
          1.  How to the conduct screening and testing and goalsetting.
          2.  How to analyse data (from the screening, assessment, and testing process) applying knowledge for designing save and effective resistance training programs.
          3.  How to apply FITT principles for designing save and effective resistance training programs.
