Task 2: Basic description (Task 2: Example of quiz)
A basic knowledge quiz, assessing understanding of components of a resistance training programme, core movements, appropriate warm-ups, and cool-downs,
understanding FITT principles of strength training, selecting appropriate exercises for specific areas of the body, understanding beginner vs advanced programme design and
how to monitor resistance training programmes.
A second reflective activity will be included after the quiz has been completed.
Reasons for this activity:
1. The use of an online quiz to assess basic understanding of concepts
2. This quiz is included as an integrated assessment part of the assessment design. It has been proven when using quizzes as integrated it has a positive influence on
student’s academic performance (Salas-Morera et al., 2012).
3. The quiz provides automated timely feedback to students, to make them once again aware of their current knowledge and their lack thereof. The quiz provides a
flexible and convenient access and deems a valuable tool for testing basic concepts with immediate feedback (Dawson et al., 2018).
4. This is a formative assessment evaluating student learning.
