Use Method of Engagement!
A clear call to action or an ask can make a post successful. Adding words such as “share your ideas below in the comments” or “tell us what you think” can generate more discussion and increase shares. The goal for engagement is to build your community and create a way for volunteers, donors, and potential clients to share with you and build a relationship.
How to Generate Engaging Posts:
1) ACalltoAction:
If there is a bill that needs to be passed to assist your organization or clientelle, or that if passed will cause your organization to close or harm your clientelle, you can make an ask of followers of your page to contact their legistlature or Congress representative to ask them to vote for or against that bill. You will need to provide a clear explanation why it will help or do harm, links to groups that are taking action in your area, include hashtags related to the issue, and the full bill number. Be ready to answer any questions or refer people to who can! This is one way to show your organization is involved in maintaining the rights of the community members, and will likely get your agency a lot of shares and awareness.
2) FillintheBlank:
Example: Make a post with a simple background color and ask: “The most important thing to me when I need to see a dentist is _______.” Allow followers of your Page to share their answers in the comments section and reply to each one of them. Be creative! Think of a fun question, or a serious one, and use the opportuntity to respond directly to each comment and build a relationship with potential new clients.
3) AskaQuestion:
Example: create a poll and ask for a preference, such as: “We are changing our open hours! We want to hear from you, please check which is more useful to you:
Options:
Sundays Noon to 5pm
or
Fridays open until 9pm”
It is as simple as clicking CREATE A POLL, filling in a couple options, and clicking PUBLISH!
