Social Media Marketing
Know what social media sites your client base uses most, because over 80% of people who use computers and cell phones are on social media. Pew Research has found that since 2012 Facebook is the top platform in general. However, depending on age and other demographics, other social sites are used: Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. For free marketing, Facebook and Twitter are now essential!
Because research shows that older Americans are starting to join Facebook, about 68% of Americans use it as of 2016, it is essential to update it for all ages now.
Users who check for updates daily are about 76%, as of 2016, so it is important to make relevant postings daily if possible, weekly at very least.
The reason to keep a page updated with new, relevant, exciting photos, articles, and events continuously is because the more “hits” your post makes, the more it is shared by Facebook to similar demographics including those who are friends of people who liked your page, and people in general who live in the region and fit your demographics.
It is important to maintain interest in
your postings, and check which
posts did better with “likes” and
“shares” to learn what your viewers
prefer. Generally posts with photos,
videos, and “Live Feeds” tend to be
distributed by Facebook more to the public. While you can pay Facebook for ads, getting many people to like, comment and share posts frequently will make the platform send it out to more people for no cost, and should be used first.
