will be ready at all times to help and guide our families, co-workers, and anyone God places in our path.
Kindness—Like love, kindness is the nectar that nour- ishes the world. It involves being compassionate, benevo- lent, charitable, and forgiving toward others. Being kind to oneself is a precondition of showing these virtues to oth- ers. When you accept yourself with loving-kindness, that feeling naturally flows to others in your life. Being kind also means giving those who have offended you a second chance to ‘make things’ right. In reaching out and allowing others to correct their mistakes in not following common sense principles or the attributes discussed here, you are clearing the landscape for love to flow and increase.
Humility—This is the most challenging attribute in the list of common-sense behaviors. We were trained to succeed by demonstrating toughness, firmness, aggressiveness, dominance, and to impose our ways and opinions. In other words, we were told everything that is contrary to what God wants us to be in this world. Humility is an essential quality in every aspect of life and in all of our relationships. Therefore, when confronted with opportunities to be aggressive or domineering, reflect on what you have learned and put into practice the gift of humility by remaining humble and modest and give the benefit of the doubt to your co-worker, friend, or family member for their words or actions that caused your distress. Through forgiveness and seeking to understand rather than to be understood, we solidify our Circle of Love and Circle of Life.
