OXYGEN SOLUTIONS
OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR
PROBLEM POSSIBLE REASON(S) SOLUTION(S)
Concentrator won’t turn on Electrical Problem 9 Make sure con is plugged in
9 Make sure there is power to the outlet
9 Check reset button to be sure it is pushed in
9 Check power outlet not controlled by light switch
Concentrator is hot 1. Filters are dirty 9 Clean filters
2. Not enough clearance around the 9 Make sure there is a 12-18 inch space around and under the
con concentrator
3. Red/yellow indicator is lit
Concentrator running but 1. Humidifier is cross-threaded 9 Re-thread humidifier bottle lid
unable to adjust the proper liter 2. Humidifier lid is not tight 9 Re-tighten humidifier bottle lid
flow 3. Humidifier is too full 9 Make sure water level is below “maximum level.”
4. Humidifier is clogged 9 Replace humidifier

LIQUID OXYGEN
Helios – No oxygen flow 1. Frozen 9 Allow 30 minutes to thaw out
2. Dirty or kinked cannula or tubing 9 Change cannula-or-pull off cannula and reverse port connection
3. Not breathing through the nose 9 Breathe through the nose
Helios - fill gauge not working 1. Not holding onto black strap only 9 Gauge shows by weight
9 Hold black strap - push pulse unit until vertical
Spirit – No oxygen flow 1. Need to change batteries 9 Replace 2 C batteries
2. Frozen 9 Green light turns red when batteries need to be changed
3. Not breathing through nose
Burn from liquid oxygen 1. Bare skin exposed to liquid oxygen 9 Run affected area under warm water for 2-3 minutes
MISCELLANEOUS TROUBLESHOOTING
Not getting enough oxygen 1. Occluded/kinked tubing 9 Replace tubing
2. Occluded humidifier bottle 9 Change humidifier
3. Leak/cracked in the humidifier lid 9 Check humidifier connection on the top of the bottle
4. Cross-thread humidifier lid
Humidifier is dirty 1. Hard water build-up 9 Clean weekly with half-vinegar, half water – let sit for 30
minutes
9 Replace humidifier monthly
9 Use distilled water
Cannula or tubing is hard and 1. Cannula or tubing is old 9 Change cannulas once/month
yellow 9 Change oxygen tubing every 3 months
9 Clean daily with soapy warm water
Water in tubing 1. Condensation 9 Replace tubing
2. Over filling humidifier bottle 9 If excessive, call Norco for water trap
9 Always fill below max water fill line
