The above discussion relates solely to the obligation to invest effort
when running the risk of giving birth to handicapped children. It
should be noted however that the technique of sperm fortification
involves some of the concerns we raised at the beginning of our dis-
cussion [in our response to Professor Richard Chaim Gerazi].
ɳ Summary and Conclusion
The husband is under no obligation to undergo sperm fortification if
he is concerned about having handicapped children. If a couple does
not yet have children, he probably should undergo sperm fortification
and they should also consult a Torah scholar.
