what constitutes the path of virtue that will enable him to
avoid sinning, which causes physical illness.
Many tragedies have resulted from marital relations
that were not conducted in accordance with the Torah. As
Chazal say, the commandment “Do not fornicate” is written
together with “Do not murder” (Shemos, 20,13) for whoever
transgresses one will eventually transgress the other as well.
In conclusion, the holy Zohar remarks that happy is the lot
of the physician who explains to the patient the proper way
to live and act.6
