Brian Selem

Brian grew up in New Jersey and moved to Los Angeles at age 19. He attended
SMC and UCLA where he primarily studied Real Estate, Business and Japanese.
He started investing when he was 20 and found he had a knack for real estate
and thus his empire grew. “I was successfully investing in property and thought
I could help others successfully manage the process of buying and selling.” He
got his real estate license 30 years ago and has had his brokers license for 10. In
those years he sat on the board of Realtors making instrumental changes to
better the real estate world.

A three-time president of the Mar Vista Hilltop Neighbors Association, of
which he is a local resident, Brian is a passionate advocate for positive change THE TEAM | No.07
in his and every neighborhood. He loves meeting new people every day and
helping them successfully navigate buying or selling real estate.

His passion for helping others is evident in the 15 years he spent working with
inner city youths in South Central at LA City Camp, running 7 marathons for a
variety of charities, and culminated in personal and professional achievements
like closing the largest short sale in US history while putting $100,000 BACK in
his client’s pocket and selling half a billion dollars wort of real estate to date.

You could say his study in Judo and Karate add strength and finesse which
extends to his real estate negotiations. “Studying martial arts for over 35 years
taught respect, discipline, commitment and camaraderie.” He is a
straightforward experienced negotiator who fights to get his clients what they
want. “Growing up in New Jersey, I learned loyalty and to fight for people in
my care and who I care about.” When asked, why real estate? “I love
continually being able to innovate. Succeeding or failing due to my own efforts
and overcoming obstacles with the help of those close to me. That’s true
entrepreneurship.”

Brian joined The Agency in June 2019 and could not be happier with the
partnership. With the combined level of knowledge and expertise, the results
produced are infinite. A devoted husband and father of three, Brian enjoys
martial arts, his family and reading in addition to his love of practicing real
estate.
