The next popular sport in the island is Rugby.
Although mainly popular in the school level, Sri
Lanka is now being recognized for their
performances in the international level. The school
level rugby season is almost as popular as the
cricket season and there’s a lot of cheering and
revelry on the streets as schools scrum down
against each other. Other popular sports include
tennis, rowing, athletics, basketball, waterpolo etc.

Sri Lanka has garnered a lot of attention
internationally as a location for both cricket and
rugby. Many foreign school and club teams visit
the island to face Sri Lankan teams on home turf.
