Ignition Interlock

Anyone having two or more convictions of driving
under the influence (DUI) within any 5-year
period must have a DDS-approved ignition
interlock device installed on each vehicle they
intend to operate for a period up to 12 months
prior to reinstatement of their driver’s license. It
is estimated that at end of FY2019, there were
49 ignition Interlock Providers and 1,421 ignition
interlock devices in active use in Georgia.
