Two worship sites in Corning and one in Painted Post form All Saints Parish in Steuben County’s southeastern section.
Ccorning’s St. Mary, founded in 1848, was the area’s only Catholic parish for more than 50 years. Its rst church, which opened in 1849 and was dedicated by Buffalo’s Bishop John Timon, served mostly Irish and some German immigrants. St. Mary received its rst resident pastor, Father Thomas Cunningham, in 1854. Its current church was dedicated in 1871 by Buffalo’s Bishop Stephen V. Ryan. St. Mary’s campus also houses a diocesan Catholic school,
All Saints Academy.
