St. John the Evangelist
St. John the Evangelist was founded in 1881 with the dedication of its church by Buffalo Bishop Stephen V. Ryan, although Mass had been celebrated in Newark Valley for at least 10 years prior. Father James O’Mara directed construction of the new facility that today remains the only church in St. John’s history.
