St. Margaret Mary

The newest of Blessed Trinity’s worship sites is St. Margaret Mary, which was founded in 1954 with Masses held in a Grange hall. A chapel opened in 1956 under Father William O’Brien, and Bishop James E. Kearney presided over the dedication. A mere decade later, work began on St. Margaret Mary’s current church. It opened in 1967 with Bishop Fulton J. Sheen of ciating at its dedication.
St. James, St. John and St. Margaret Mary, all in Tioga County, became combined in 2003 as Blessed Trinity Parish along with two former churches: St. Francis in Catatonk and St. Pius X in Van Etten, Chemung County. Blessed Trinity currently shares staff and resources with Tioga County’s other Catholic parish, St. Patrick’s in Owego.
