Catholic Community of the Blessed Trinity was formed
by the 2006 merger of St. Mary Magdalene in Wolcott,
St. Thomas the Apostle in Red Creek and St. Jude Chapel in Fair Haven.
The three churches had been working together as a cluster since 1985.
St. Thomas the Apostle was incorporated in 1875, and its rst church building was dedicated in 1876. In 1943 lightning struck the church and it was destroyed by re. A new church was built later that year, and it has been renovated at least twice since then. In the early 1960s, yearly in uxes of summer residents who were vacationing at nearby cottages frequently led to standing-room-only crowds during weekend Masses.
