To combat this overcrowding, St. Jude Chapel opened in 1962 as a mission of St. Thomas. Under the direction of Father Elmer Heindl, pastor, St. Thomas purchased a former Odd Fellows lodge in the center of Fair Haven. Local parishes donated
St. Jude Chapel
pews and an altar for the chapel, and individuals donated everything from the pulpit to a life-size statue of St. Jude. The chapel is open during the warmer months.
