St. Mary Magdalene Church was established as a mission church in 1940 in order to accommodate visitors who inhabited the area’s cottages during the summer months. The church was built that same year. In 1954 it became an independent parish, with Father John Tressy as its rst resident pastor. The church building was enlarged in 1966.
