That is exactly the case! I hope you are seeing how strong these pictures
are. His love is infinitely more precious than life; His forgiveness
cleanses us infinitely whiter than snow. Look at Psalm 19:9-10,

“The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of
the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more
        desirable than gold,  yes, than much fine gold;

                                       (Here is the figure)

Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the Honeycomb.”

The judgments of the Lord are said to be sweeter than honey which is the
sweetest natural substance on earth. When God wanted to show how
sweet His Word was, He used honey. That is the strongest picture He
could use. When He was describing the promised land, it was a land
flowing with milk and honey. Did you know that honey is the only food
on earth that never turns rotten. It never goes bad, never gets moldy and
never putrefies. I believe that God preserves honey as He does His word.
Turn, if you would, to Psalm 81, verse 16,

“But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with
honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

You see, it is the same figure, but with a slight twist. It is still the
sweetest of all natural substances. I know honey is sweeter than sugar.
Of all the natural substances honey is the sweetest, and we are told that
the droppings from the honeycomb is the purest and sweetest form of
honey. So you have the sweetest of the sweetest of natural substances.

Now what is this Psalm 81 about? Honey in the rock. It was interesting
to do a study on that. I read that the bees would lodge in the rocks and
build their nests in the rocks to protect the honey from the sun that saps
away some of its sweetness. What is honey in the rock? That’s honey in
the shade. You see what He’s saying. God could not build up this
picture anymore. He takes the sweetest of all the natural substances, and
He takes the sweetest form, the drippings from the honeycomb, and then
He puts it in a rock, honey in the shade, and you could not get anything
sweeter than the drippings from the honeycomb in the shade of the rock.
(Remember that Rock is Christ) He does all that just to say, My Word is
like that. My will is like that. My judgments are like that. So sweet.
Sweeter than the honeycomb, the drippings of the honeycomb in the
