attractive alternative to staying with their guardians.
So where did they go? Well, in the autumn term, they
headed for Oxford with Mr Jones, Mr Cousins and a gappie. Their itinerary included punting, ice skating, the Ashmolean Museum and shopping as well as a sightseeing bus tour and some time in Oxford University parks and gardens. In the spring, Mr Anderson led the trip to London where they
took in the sites of Buckingham Palace,The Natural History Museum, HMS Belfast and Madame Tussauds. Of course, more trips are planned for the new academic year.
Our regular weekend trips also kept our boarders happy and busy and included go-karting, rock climbing, shopping,
a tour of the Amex stadium (home to Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club) and the much looked forward to annual trip to the pantomime. A true English treat.
There isn’t one person who has made the biggest impact on my life. It’s everyone in the school. I remember on my first day at
St Andrew’s how everyone welcomed me and made me feel as if I had always been here.

In the evenings, the children hunkered down under their duvets for film nights, enjoyed themed suppers and the vast array of activities laid on for them and, of course, they relaxed in the comfort of the House!
We are lucky to boast some of the best prep school boarding facilities in the country following the two-year, £170,000 makeover of Colstocks. In September 2019, we opened the new boys’ common room, fully equipped with computers, table football and Sky TV. A proper boys’ den!
It is a welcome addition to the refurbished bedrooms and social spaces throughout the House which have improved the flow and integration within Colstocks and made a noticeable difference to the children’s happiness and wellbeing - be they full time boarders, weekly boarders or flexi-boarders. It is wonderful that the BSA Awards have recognise the hard work put in to this area.
As always, I would like to thank all of the Colstocks staff who work tirelessly to support the boarders. They are a fantastic team. Mark Tomsett. Head of Boarding
