OUT AND ABOUT
As lockdown guidelines dictated local attractions and sites be closed for much of the academic year, our trips programme was curtailed until half way through the summer term when, rather brilliantly, the guidelines changed, and staff grasped the opportunity to get the pupils outside of school; learning about the world around them, creating memories and building friendships, interests and experiences. Here is a snapshot of some of the adventuring the children enjoyed
Year 8 relished a fantastic activities programme in the penultimate week of term which included tree-top swinging at Go Ape, amazing aqua activities at Bewl Water, abseiling at Blackland Farm, whooping on fun rides at Thorpe Park and, a little more sedately walking the South Downs Way in the rain.
(Main pic)Year 1 kept an eye out for the black tip reef sharks at the Blue Reef Aquarium in Hastings where they watched the fish being fed.
Year 6 loved the magical world of mystery and intrigue at Groombridge Place with its pretty tree lined forest paths and water pools, giant tree swings, wooden bridges and maze.
Year 2 were thrilled to visit Lewes Castle and were especially taken by the steep spiral staircase to the top of the Norman keep where they practised aiming and shooting their pretend arrows through the arrow slits.
