                 HOUSE LIFE
Ask an Old Androvian which House they were in at St Andrew’s Prep, the first response, accompanied by a smile, will be to point out that they were not ‘Houses’ in the old days but ‘Sets’ and the Inter-Set competition was a major feature of school life where camaraderie across the age groups was formed. There will then follow a few fond memories of their Set Leader, the weekly Set meetings and other Set-based contests.
Although we now call them Houses, the original Set Cup is awarded at the end of each term to the House that has accumulated the most points awarded for all aspects of school life – effort, industry, good behaviour and performances in House events. At the end of the year, to thunderous applause,The Newton Sheffield Cup is awarded to the House that has accumulated the most points across the three terms. Additionally, the Henry Tankard is awarded to the winning House leader.
Many congratulations to Sea Kings on raising the Newton Sheffield Cup this year and well done and thank you to our House Leaders: Mr Barter (Arcos), Mrs Garbett (Rovers), Miss Lancefield (Sea Kings) and Mrs Veitch (VCs).
