Objectives:

• Various methods and mechanisms of area level planning in India.
• Focus on methods prevailing in Gujarat - Town planning scheme.
• Correlation between a development plan and town planning scheme.
• Statutory process of town planning scheme – various sections, statutory time line,

statutory requirements.

• Derive a concept for preparation of a town planning scheme.

For area planning we use Town Planning Scheme as a tool.

Study Area:
Location: Sanathal, Ahmedabad.
T.P. Scheme: 404 A

Area: 203 Ha.

Steps:

1. Learn GTPUD act, 1976.
2. For understanding T.P. Scheme sinario in gujarat,
we analyse different five city’s T.P. Schemes.
3. As a case study, we learn different sectors in
Gandhinagar.
