“It’s time to give the landfills – and your wallet – a break.”
“There are whole families of teak animals,” says Trevor. “The sculptures tie-in well with the natural environment and create a great talking point with your guests.”
Umbrellas for all
Muskoka Teak’s flagship brand of umbrellas are manufactured in Miami by Tuuci. Chosen by John and Trevor for their quality and reliability, Tuuci engineers their umbrellas with marine- grade materials that are
also used for high-end boat covers. They are completely waterproof and can withstand winds which would destroy other umbrellas. They come in different colours and patterns, so you can match style with substance.
Tuucis are perfect for cottages in Muskoka, where the weather can be both exceptional and horrendous
on the same day. Made with canvas that will last at least 20 years, and a frame built to last even longer, it may be the last umbrella you ever need to buy.
“Tuucis are the strongest umbrellas you’ll find,” says Trevor, who literally used a Tuuci umbrella as a waterv on the lake last summer. “If they’re strong enough to hold a 200-plus lbs. man skiing through the water at high speeds, then they’re strong enough for your cottage.”
Muskoka Teak also carries the FIM umbrella, a beautiful and practical umbrella which comes at a more modest price point than its high-end counterparts. The FIM frame components are manufactured in Italy
and finished with Sunbrella canvases made in Canada. With an easy-to-operate 360-degree rotation, it’s a great way to
beat the heat as the sun moves through the sky.
“They’ll provide you style, function and many years of enjoyment,” says John.
Game time
To complete the time spent at the cottage, two years ago Trevor went
searching for an outdoor activity which didn’t require much – or any – supervision. He found the solution in a line of outdoor games
tables: shuffleboard, billiards, table tennis, and foosball tables which are so durable you can leave them outside even throughout the winter, and they’ll be good to go in the spring.
“Come see us and we’ll make sure you have quality items which will last a generation,” says Trevor. “You’ll spend less in the long-run, have more time to spend with
your loved ones and you’ll be lessening your environmental impact: it’s a situation where everyone wins.” DS
