Marine Sheriff Division, there were over four dozen
preventable boating accidents last season... Most were
broken bones from inexperienced PWC riders being
ejected from their ride and several PWC collisions....
and again! there were more propeller injuries of peo-
ple in the water with an engine in gear.
Both departments and the Coast Guard rescued
numerous Lake St. Clair boats taking on water or
sinking.... common causes were faulty gasket seals and
fishermen anchoring off the back of their boat and be-
