Letting go and letting God
January
“As humans,” Hawkins says, “We are all connected through the database and have
the power to change lives, individually and collectively. The database transcends time,
space, and all human limitations.”
David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D. says that the human mind is like a computer terminal
connected to a giant database.
Hawkins goes on to says that man thinks he lives by virtue of the forces he can
control, but in fact, he’s governed by power from unrevealed sources over which he has
no control. This is not saying that we do not have free will. This is saying we have to
join with the Energy, the Force; we have to join with God.
“Man is immobilized in his present condition by his alignment with enormously
powerful attractor energy patterns, which he himself unconsciously sets in motion,” says
Hawkins. When we have a relationship with God, we are on the same wavelength, energy
field.
Hawkins says that we wander about in our endless conundrums, asking the same
questions century after century but fail to take that quantum leap in consciousness. I call
this ‘letting go and letting God.’ God is our genius Database. He is our Source.
Experiencing relief, joy, and awe are experienced when we give ourselves to God.
Trusting in God is what it is all about! God will always turn lemons into lemonade
(in His time). The Bible story: 2 Kings Chapter 5 about the healing of Naaman is so
typical of us today. Naaman felt the cure for his leprosy, given to him by the prophet
Elisha was too simple, so he did not do it.
Finally, Naaman’s servants (whom I think were uncomplicated people) said, “…if the
prophet had asked you to do something hard and heroic, wouldn’t you have done it?
So why not this simple ‘wash and be clean’? (The Message)”
Naaman then went down to the Jordan and dipped himself seven times and his flesh
was clean. Simple? Just do it! Let go and let God!
Getting connected to God, our Database, and walking with Him throughout our lives
will lead to true happiness. Hawkins scientifically says that society constantly expends
its efforts to correct effects instead of causes; we attack problems almost blindly through
trial and error.
Yet, God gave us the rules to follow, and loving ways to follow them. It is too simple
for most to follow. Society wants to hear something complex, but everything simply
serves a purpose, and fits into a balance. Man is stuck unless he simplifies his life by
“just letting go and letting God!”
In counseling so many people tell me about hurting stories that happened years and
years ago. I would not say this to them, but I feel like saying what Cher said in the 1987
movie, “Moonstruck” after the young Nicholas Cage said to her, “I love you!” - she said,
“Get over it!” - as she slapped his surprised face. I almost believe that line won her the
Academy ‘Best Actress’ Award.
