Cinnamon Baked Apples
from Lourdes
Lourdes has always cherished the
comforting aroma of baked apples
with cinnamon. She often says, “When
you cook them, it brings out the flavor
like nothing else.” Raw apples are too
tart for her taste, but once baked,
they transform into a warm, spiced
treat she and her daughter adore. Her
go-to recipe, cinnamon baked apples,
began as a way to use up extra fruit
and became a dish she loves to share.
Thanks to the Veggie Van, Lourdes has

Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Wash, peel (optional), core
and slice or dice the apples
into bite-sized pieces.
3. In a small bowl, mix cinnamon
and melted butter. Place apples
in a baking dish and toss with
mixture, ensuring they are all
well coated. Add a little water
to help create a sauce.
4. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until
they are fork-tender. Stir halfway
through baking for even cooking.
5. Enjoy warm, either on their
own or with a dollop of
yogurt. Sprinkle with chopped
nuts for added texture.
