ORDER OF THE RED TRIANGLE
David Brandon
The Order of the Red Triangle Award is the highest recognition given by the YMCA of the Suncoast and is presented to a volunteer that has generously contributed their time and talent to further the mission of the YMCA. Since 2003, David Brandon has served on the YMCA Board of Directors offering his expertise for Y capital development, his leadership for a term as a Board Chairman and has generously contributed to support the cause.
David’s involvement with the Y began when
he was asked to help with a capital campaign to bring a YMCA to Palm Harbor. Knowing little about the charity initially, he did his research and toured other facilities and learned more about how the YMCA is changing lives for people of all generations. David
was so impressed that he agreed to join in support of the efforts and become a volunteer campaigner. In 2004, the Palm Harbor facility opened and today it is serving more than 7,000 people to become healthier and stay connected. When David refers to the Y he often says, “The Y is the Community” and he encourages others to join him in “investing in the YMCA” to help improve lives and keep the Y open to all.
For his continued support for over 25 years we share our sincere gratitude for David and all of his years of servant leadership to the YMCA to help build a stronger community.
