 COMMUNITY SAFE PLACE
2020 was an unpredictable year, but two things remained constant – kids needed to learn and parents needed to work.
The Y was honored to have the ability and support to provide an equitable, safe learning environment for children to grow and thrive.
During these challenging
times, the overall experience may be different but the Y remains committed to providing exceptional youth programs that nurture the potential of children and teens - all while ensuring everyone’s safety.
In March 2020, after COVID-19 closed schools and our Ys, we
quickly responded to support our community throughout
the crisis. As an organization dedicated to youth development, we know how important it is for children to have a safe and enriching place for learning and growth.
For ten consecutive weeks during local stay-at-home executive orders, your YMCA came together to offer emergency all-day Youth Relief Care for essential workers across Pinellas, Pasco, Citrus, and Hernando counties.
