What’s happening in the gardens?
Now is the time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labour. We are harvesting summer squash and cucumbers
and our tomatoes won’t be far behind. We even have our first full hive of honey ready for extraction!
The biggest job on our list right now is keeping out all those pesky weeds. In the perennial gardens, it’s also
important to cut back all the faded blooms of any perennials that have already had their moment to shine. This
gives some space for the next bloomers to show off their bright, beautiful colours!
In the gardens now, we are seeing lilies everywhere! There are many varieties of both daylilies and
oriental lilies. If you see me around the gardens, be sure to share your favourites!
