THE WORDS BEHIND

                                                                      THOSE LETTERS

                                                                                               @syazwani14cats

                                                           Your letters still lay by the seat we shared,

                                              I chained them together with strings of stained tears,

                                                              Holding close your last words prisoner,

                                                      They weigh of all things you wished you’d say.

                                                   The words you wrote sound wrong from my lips,

                                              Though your familiar hand once warmed this paper,

                                                            You told me you had wanted everything,

                           Yet the love we tried so hard to build wasn't truly enough to save you.

                                                           Piercing scent of guilt invades my senses,

                                                              They tell of your dreams for perfection,

                                                     For stars and constellations to make us whole,

                             But they died when you stopped believing we had what we needed.
