6: DOWN THE

                                    RABBIT HOLE

ince the 1930’s, we have gone down the rabbit
Shole of an ever-larger federal government,
experienced the concentration of corporate power, and
witnessed the ascendance of international organizations
that threaten our freedom and independence. Milton
Friedman warned us against tyranny in his book
Capitalism and Freedom when he said that “freedom is
weak and fragile, not strong and enduring.” The
concentration of power is the greatest threat to our
freedom. To quote Lord Acton “Power corrupts and
absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Societies that put
equality and fairness as top priorities end up with
                        neither.

                              PRESIDENTIAL POWERS
The president can sign or veto legislation,
command the armed forces, convene or adjourn
Congress, grant reprieves, can give pardons, receive
ambassadors, and can make treaties with foreign
