ตัวอักษร ๔ หลัก มีความหมายดังนี้
ตัวอักษร ๒ หลักแรก เป็นอักษรย่อของคณะที่รับผิดชอบจัดการเรียนการสอน
วศ (EG) หมายถึง คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์
ตัวอักษร ๒ หลักต่อมา เป็นอักษรย่อของสาขาวิชาที่รับผิดชอบจัดการเรียนการสอน
กส (IT) หมายถึง สาขาวิชาการจัดการเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ
ตัวเลข ๓ หลัก คือ ๕xx และ ๖xx แสดงวิชาเรียนในระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา
