Day 9                                                                                                   Otjiwarongo


       Okonjima / Africat Foundation    4 x Camp Site: self catering  (2 nights)



                                        After a final game drive you leave the peace and quiet of Etosha and head south
                                        on the tar road until you reach the gates to Okonjima.  The lodge lies a further 24km
                                        into the middle of the mountains and it is here you will spend your last 2 nights
                                        searching for some of the Africa’s biggest carnivores.  Options include walking with
                                        wild cheetah, tracking leopard and hyena from an open vehicle with the aid of a
                                        telemetry and visiting the Africat Foundation.
                                        Camping in Okonjima Nature Reserve epitomises the African safari experience. Your
                                        small group or family can become one with nature as they visit the Carnivore Care
                                        Centre, track leopards and cheetahs, learn about the indigenous people during
                                        the Bushman trail, and grow attuned to the sights, sounds and ways of Namibia’s
                                        grassy plains. The four, partially-equipped, private campsites share a swimming pool


                                        at the foot of the Ombokoro Mountains and are located in the 2000ha non-
                                        rehabilitation area. All four sites boast spectacular sundowner viewpoints.

                                        With its  genuine conservation story, Okonjima is always a highlight of any trip to
                                        Namibia.

                                        At Okonjima you have the opportunity to spend time out with your guide in 54,000
                                        acres  of pristine bush tracking the resident carnivores who live wild and free,
                                        hunting for themselves.  Afternoon game trails often concentrate on cheetah
                                        tracking where you will get the opportunity to walk with Africat’s ambassador
                                        animals whilst they go out hunting.

       Okonjima / Africat Foundation    Morning and Afternoon Reserve Activities

                                        At Okonjima you have the opportunity to spend time out with your guide in 54,000

                                        acres  of pristine bush tracking the resident carnivores who live wild and free,
                                        hunting for themselves.  Mornings are sometimes best for leopard tracking as the
                                        cats have often hunted overnight or are in search of prey in the early hours.
                                        However, your guides are the experts and will make the decision on the day to
                                        maximise your sightings.
