Section Eleven
11 Landscape Maintenance
11.1 Generally landscape maintenance
to McDonald’s sites is carried out to a high
standard.
11.2 Specific horticultural standards for
Landscape Maintenance are outlined in Part 2
of this specification and should be adhered to
by the landscape contractor.
11.3 Proposed hedges should be maintained
to the heights detailed in the landscape
specification ongoing in order to provide dense
well kept hedge.
11.4 Special attention should be given to the
pruning of the topiary species specified within
the new style planting beds. These should be
kept closely clipped throughout the year and
the integrity of the plants initial shape held.
11.5 Watering of new style planting beds and
any newly laid turf will be critically important
in the weeks and months following landscape
construction. The liability for this will have to be
agreed at site level. Initially it is expected that
the landscape contractor will have responsibility
whilst on site. Thereafter the responsibility normally
lies with the main contractor whilst they are still
on site, and then should subsequent watering
be required the restaurant management may
have to keep up with the watering regime.
11.6 Restaurant teams to be briefed on
watering regime at handover.
