Echad Mi Yodea - Netanela Carasso (8th Grade)
In Echad Mi Yodea, at the end of the Haggadah, we recognize Hashem as the all knowing,
passionate, and Merciful One. He freed a slave na on and took it as His own. Hashem didn’t just
free us physically; He set us free spiritually as well.
However, I think there is a deeper meaning to this song. This song is of everything that relates to
Hashem in crea on. From the smallest blade of grass, to the most miraculous events. For
example, “echad elokeinu shebashamayim uva'aretz.” This means, our God is one, in the skies
and on the earth. This phrase is spoken a er each paragraph in the song. It highlights how
Hashem is connected to everything and His presence is everywhere even if you cannot see it.
Every year that we sing this song during Pesach, we remind ourselves that Hashem is all
knowing. He knows what happened in Egypt, as He was the one to free us from our
enslavement.
