EASEL News: March 2021
A 2020 Bright Spot for EASEL:
Record-Breaking Year for Pet Adoptions
While 2020 provided us no shortage of challenges, last year did bring EASEL one benefit: it helped us adopt more cats and dogs
than ever before, and we are extremely grateful to our new pet parents to help find homes for these loving animals.
By the end of the year, we had already surpassed a total of 1,000 adoptions for cats, a 25 percent increase over 2019’s 800 adoptions
(we typically average 600 cat adoptions annually). For dogs, we surpassed 300 adoptions, a 20 percent increase over 2018 and 2019,
when we adopted about 250.
The Ewing Observer recently wrote about our 2020 successes and spoke to our very own Mark Phillips, EASEL’s director of opera-
tions, to get the scoop about why more adoptions were possible this year. Check out the article here: EASEL saw record number of pet
adoptions in 2020
Pet Adoptions
We are still holding adoptions by appointment once an adopter is approved. You can
fill out an application online by clicking here. A phone interview is conducted prior to
meeting pets.
Additionally, our cat habitats at Petsmart in Princeton are occupied with cats that the
public can meet. Social distancing practices are in effect when pet meet and greets
take place.
