Artist Statement

My work is a reflection of what I love and what I have learnt. I do to further explore my creative

abilities and I continue to push myself to be different with every task that comes my way. I am
inspired by my passion for sport and music. Most of my work is centered around poetry and
meaning behind the music together with the diversity that is found amongst sports people. I am

to show this to the world in such a way that they can realize the importance of sports and art
and that one can have an option to do both and still be successful in other commercial fields. It

is also important to me that I depict the difference between societal perceptions of these people
compared to how their lives actually go about.

My ideas are sourced from current affairs and hints Dada and Surrealism which are things that I
have learn throughout the duration of this module. Although I have acquired more knowledge on
other different art movements, I can safely say I have grown fond of these two and fins them

easier to work with and I am always intrigued with the work the ideas produce.

The materials that I use are also drawn from my inspiration. One will spot a lot of sport, music

and female related things as part of my work. Examples of these will be basketball related tools,
football players as artists of the week and making music mixes.

As I do more tasks, I learn new things about myself and this helps me improve on my work as
well as develop my ideas better as well.
