FOREIGN LAND
Yesterday in Gröningen
I asked, where your heart places are? Answered my own question —
if possible, one day,
my ashes should
be scattered in the Drakensberg.
This morning still far from hearth,
I receive news of a young hiker mother who slipped last Sunday along Gray’s Pass, plunged down a deep gorge
and vanished.
I realise now, my wish is glib and lavish.
