Perhaps you were once a customer of such a business so you know, first hand, who your target prospects are and what they face.
Maybe they’re a lot like you! This will make it easier for you to identify with who they are.
So, now you have what you need to develop your own buyer personas. Make your stories as detailed as possible, involve expert help in compiling them if you need to, but above all - make them credible.
Conclusion
Buyer personas are not difficult to develop if you are operating in a field you know. All it takes is a bit of downtime to focus on your customers and think about the issues they face in their daily, working lives. Look at it from their point of view. It’s a great way to connect with like-minded prospects that you can’t otherwise connect with physically. It gives them something to identify with and the impression you and your business understand their world, can help them and are worthy of their custom.
Make your characters and story lines relevant (as in the examples, which are relevant to fleet managers), interesting and believable and you can’t go wrong, plus coming up with characters, stories and scenarios can be fun.
