To Him, ruling forever, beyond the sun,
Who grants the might of His right hand to men,
The fount of everlasting peace and all bliss,
Let all men united faithfully praise the Lord.

Crown Him, the faithful shepherd and loving Prince,
The one Christians ascribe all their fervent song;
Now holy angels render their praise to Him,
Hymns and hosannas to Christ the Lord we'll sing.

I sing unto the Lord when night approaches,
For all the blessings HE'S given me this day;
Oh, let HIS mighty wings become my shelter,
And be the refuge I always turn to.
CHORUS
How many faults, oh, Lord, have I committed?
I ask for your forgiveness in your Son's name;
Let me be reconciled before nighttime,
With You, and with my neighbor and with myself.

Oh, teach me how to live and not be frightened,
By tombs more than the bed in which I rest now;
Then teach me how to die and await your coming,
And rise victorious on the day of judgment.

This night I hope to rest in your protection,
And close my eyes to sweet dreams in your bosom;
In rest I'll gather my strength for the morrow,
To serve my Master when I awaken.
