They will think I kept you at home and did not let you go there.”

“But was afraid to see their cold faces. I hate them all.”

Grandpa started at Nguyen’s face and shook his head.

“Nguyen, You do not say that thing with anybody. Do you
understand what I just said?” In the soft voice, Nguyen’s
grandpa said plus with a little worry and fear.

Nguyen looked at his grandpa.

“No. I could not understand...!”

“I will get big trouble! They maybe knock the door at
midnight, and take me out from the house, then chop my head
off!" Grandpa said after he had shaken his head and was
expiration.

Nguyen's eyes wide opened in his surprise after he had
heard about those things. He looked at grandpa and asked.

"Why they will do it to you?"

Nguyen's grandpa had a grim face and recommended
strongly:

"You was young and too soon to understand about Viet-
Minh! But you will learn to understand them from now. From
today you must quiet and do not tell anything more to anyone
else because we do not know who is Viet-Minh, even your good
friends if you open your mouth to say anything about our family
and what you thought about them like you had told me today.
We will get big trouble...! Maybe we will be killed soon!"
