One week later, some Vietminh agents who were the
soldiers of Security platoons. They took a turn to guard on the
front gate and some blockhouses. They opened the front gate
and cut the barbed-wire at the South side of firebase, where had
the small drain going throughout the base. Vietminh agents were
secret let Vietminh troops coming the base at midnight. They
killed all the guards of Tank company and Security platoons by
their daggers without noisy and holding all of the strong points.

At one o'clock, Vietminh 307th division opened the mortars
and canons as the thunderstorms into the base positions that they
had to information by agents. Also, the Vietminh guerrilla
soldiers used the tactic of people's sea to push the people of
Ngoc-Dong, Dau-Dang villages and few villages around the
base as their shields and forward to the base. In the same time,
Vietminh agents killed the soldiers who tried running up to the
tank for defense and took the tanks. They used those tanks to
destroy the Tank company and Security platoons, while they fire
the base in flame.

Vietminh agent soldiers in the base captured all
commanders and tied them up in the command bunker, doused
these commanders with gasoline and set them ablaze. At the
same time, the Vietminh 307th army division attacked the 10th
Movable battalion from the outer with full assault force. It made
the soldiers in the firebase were in the crisis, and lost
commanding by the accidence of explosives while the firebase
was rising of flame in the dark. The soldiers of 10th Movable
Battalion were strong resisting the enemy but could not turn
over the state until the last soldiers.

Until early morning next day, Captain Tran-Duc-Do jointed
his troops with the 5th Commando Regiment from Hung-Yen
