Nguyen felt onto his grandpa's arms with the sorrow
emotion and said:

"Yes, sir...I will try to forgive and forget any things as you
said."

In reality, these miserable images had been following
Nguyen as the evils’ shadow that had been reform onto many
ways of the dirty war and never buried in his mind.

The war continued spreading onto the South of the village
with the dreadful situation for the people, while Nguyen and his
grandma were hungry, sitting close to the bamboos’ bush to hid
the observers, who were flying on an L-19 airplane and over
their heads in the air. Nguyen's grandpa was lying on the ground
and had impatient to wait for the dark following the sunset with
his ideal, which he will take advantage the dark to move out the
bamboos’ bush and looking for the food. He checked around any
directions and places in early evening carefully, which he
thought it would be a danger for him.

The whole nature was slowly brooding over by the dark, and
the stars were dim on the sky, while the sound of cannon shells
continued to echo on the South of the village. Nguyen’s grandpa
looked at Nguyen and said:

“Nguyen. Be a good boy and take care of your grandma.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Minh. You must be careful. If you do not feel safe, please
turn back here.” Nguyen’s grandma said.

Grandpa started at her face.

“Yes. Do not worry. I will be back with both of you.”
