Sole divinity. The name may derive from Ailiah, a god of Arabia’s pre-Islamic, polytheistic tradition. Similar to El, Il, Ilah. Jehova. [or Jehovah] Certain descriptions of Allah seem to draw upon pre-Islamic [Pagan] tradition as well, especially the characteristics of certain moon deities such as Ilmugah, Kahil, Shaker, Wadd, and Warah.
