94 ♦ Bible Writers' Theology Chapter Five
Became God is Spirit and has no flesh and bone before the incarnation, Ihe Bible declares that "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent..." (Numbers 23:19). This points to His unique ness in kind. I Samuel 15:29 says, "...the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent:forheisnotaman, thatheshouldrepent." AgaininHosea11:9,God declares ofHimself, "...I amGod, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee." These verses teach us that God's nature differs from earthly human nature in holiness, omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence. A limited earthly human being cannot be compared to the creator.
Since the original man is created in the image of God (which is Christ),
the type and shadow of the church is seen in Genesis 1:27, when God cre

Ephesians 1:4-11 records, "According as he hath chosen us in him before t e foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame
before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together inone all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after
the counsel of his own will."
These scriptures go hand in hand with the divine plan of God recorded in Genesis 1.26-27. When the fullness of time is come, the design, which was inthemindofGod,willbefulfilled.
