Anthropology • The Origin of Man ♦ 95 another; though my reins be consumed within me." These verses reveal the
time when man will put on the immortal image of Christ.
Paul, in I Corinthians 15:47-49 gives the distinction between the natural and spiritual Adams. The natural Adam is from the dust: "The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are
they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly." The spiritual Adam is Christ. In verses 50 and 51 of chapter 15, Paul proclaims, "Now this 1say, brethren, that flesh and blood (earthly material) cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed." (See also Philippians 3:21.)
In Jesus, the fullness of the Godhead was revealed bodily, and we becamecompleteinHim(Colossians2:9,10). "Notbyworksofrighteous ness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3.5). Ephesians 5:30 confirms that "we are members of his (Jesus') body, of his
fleshandofhisbones." Thisiswhatbeingbornagainoftheincorruptible seed means. The seed is the Word, which is Christ (John 1:14). Galatians 3:27 tells us we "have put on Christ". "...It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is" (I John 3:2).
It is recorded in Psalms 17:15, "As for me, 1will behold thy face in rigW eousness: 1shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. (S^ ® Isaiah 26:19) This verse shows that Adam, in his physical, earthly image was not in the spiritual likeness of God's nature. This verse also
that after regeneration by faith, on the day of the resiurection, man wi ® intheimageandlikenessofJesusChrist(Philippians3:20-21;ICorint lan 15:45-50; II Corinthians 5:1-3).
D The Unity of Man and Woman is a Shadow of the Unity of Christ with the Church
In the beginning, man was created to live in perfect unity with a nature. The entire human race has descended from the union of t e ated couple. All humans spoke the same language, had the mindset, andlivedinthesameculture. Thescripturesclearly truth (Genesis 11:1-8). God brought to Adam a
