7.0 The Son of God
Byrevelation,JesusistheSonofGod. However,accordingtothehuman
reasoning of some, Jesus is an ordinary man of earthly flesh and blood with His own independent human spirit. Considering such an explanation, the oneness of God would actually two persons: the Father, who has an inde pendentpersonality, andChrist, withHisownindependentpersonality. As we have been instructed, let us search for the biblical truth concerning the
Lord "till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the full
ness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13; cf. Isaiah 43:10).
"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is fhe Son of God?" He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himsdf: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son. He that hath the Son hath life;andhethathathnottheSonofGodhathnotlife. ThesethingshaveI written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God" (I John 5:5,10, 12,13). "But these are written, that ye might
believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye nught have life through his name" (John 20:31). "Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, thou sayest that 1am a king. To this end was I bom, for this cause came 1into the world, that I should bear wit ness unto the truth. Everyone that is of the truth hears my voice" (John 18:37). "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent" Qohn 17:3).
Jesus said of Himself that He is a mystery that needs revelation: "All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoevertheSonwillrevealHim"(Matthew11:27). ItisHiswillforall to have the revelation of the Father and the Son.
ThemysteryoftheFatherandoftheSonisgreatindeed. Tounderstand it requires a revelation that comes from the Spirit of God and the Word of God. ThosewhodependonGodcanhavetherevelationofboththeFather andtheSon. ItisHiswillforyoutoreceivetruthandunderstandingasthe Word is studied in love. That is why Jesus said, "He that hath my com mandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and 1will love him, and will manifest myself to him" (John 14:21). The Bible has clear teaching concerning the oneness of GodtheFatherandtheSon. PeoplewhohavetheHolySpiritcanbeledinto all truth as they search the scriptures (John 16:7-13).
