12 ♦ Bible Writers'Theology Chapter Two
3 Special Revelation of Jesus
Jesus Christ truly is the centre of the revelation of God. The Hebrew writer says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son,...bywhomalso he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person..." (Hebrews 1:1-3). Here Paul calk Him the express image of His person. (Greek "Charakter" means exact copy or figure of God.) In Colossians 1:15, Paul says of Him that He is, "the image of the invisible God." In Colossians 2:9, Paul says that "...in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." In John 1:18, John says, "No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Jesus himself said,... "no man knoweth the Son but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him" (Matthew 11:27). Therefore, Christ is the revelation of his existence, hisnature, andhiswill. Heisthebestprooffortheexistenceof God for He lived the life of God among men, being Emmanuel, God with us (Matthew 1:23).
John 10:30, 38 shows us that He Himself was God. He revealed the absolute nature of God. In John 14:6-10, He revealed the incarnation and nature of God. The revelation of God in Christ is the most profound fact in
history and deserves the most careful consideration.
4 Revelation of God In Scriptures
True believers have always maintained that the Bible contains the revela tion of God to man. Only the Bible gives the clear and irrefutable revelation of (3od. It records man's knowledge of God, and God's dealings with the creature, which men of old gathered from nature, history, and conscience, as well as, from miracles, prophecies, the Lord Jesus Christ, inner experiences,
and divine instructions. It is true that Christians therefore, turn to the scrip tures as the supreme and infallible source for the construction of their theol-

5 God Is Revealed In Personal Experiences
Men and women of all ages have experienced direct fellowship with God. They declared that they knew Him personally, and not simply by means of history consciousness, miracles and prophecy, but by direct personal expe
rience.
